J. BELL WILL RIDE FOR W. S. KILMER Toronto, Ont., September 8. Jockey J. Bell, one of the best lightweight riders developed Jn Canada in recent years, has joined the stable of W, S. Kilmer. He commenced riding, or rather, galloping horses, for Harry Giddings, Jr., three years ago, . liis first experience with horses. He showed ability from the outset, but did not ride his first "winner. Jabot, until the June meeting at Connaught Park last year. The lads riding lias lwen mostly confined to the lidding horses, but he piloted seven winners last year, and fourteen during the short Canadian season recently closed. Bells relatives reside at Newcastle, England. He is sixteen years of age and can ride at. ninety-four pounds. He went to the Kilmer stable on trial during the meeting at Saratoga, liutthe sale of his contract by Mr. Giddings to tlie Kilmer stable was only completed Wednesday.
