RAIN AND MUDDY TRACK AT LEXINGTON Many - Arrivals from Louisville Skeptic to Be Retired to the Stud, Lexington, Ky., September 8. Heavy rains last night and this morning made the Kentucky Association track muddy, but for all of that, many horses were at work in. preparation for the annual fall meeting, to open next AVcdnesday. The stables of A. L. Kirby, Joseph Umensotter, Kay Spence and AV. A. McKinney arrived during the day from Louisville, Money Maker. Miss Fannie, Pretty Baby, Grover Hughes, Old Miss, Deckhand, Black Frost, Alfadir and Dr. Tuck being among the horses in the shipment. J. O. Keeue returned last night from Saratoga, having motored to Toronto, where lie arranged with Robert AV. Davies to bring the stallion Orme Shore, son of Ormc Airginia Shore, by John Davis, to Keeneland Farm next year. The stallion Sir John Johnson, -which came from Saratoga in the car with H. H. Hewitts horses, in charge of John I. Smith, was sent to Beaumont Farm, where he again will make the season as the property of Frank J. Nolan. Smith announced that Skeptic will be kept in training until the close of racing in Kentucky this fall and then will be sent to Melbourne Farm to enter the stud. Pan Maid was turned out todaj at Melbourne Farm. The best moves today were: Clare Three-qua-ters in 1:21; Cleek Three-quarters in 1:22; Gallant Lad Three-quarters in 1:24; Guy Fortune Three-quarters in 1:20; Sunflash Three-quarters in 1:24; Lady Always Three-quarters in 1:2G; Sleeper Throo-quarters in 1:28. Pocket Change Five-eighths in 1:07; Butcher Boy Five-eighths in 1:09; Dr. Shaffer Five-eighths in 1:10; Tex Fonnan Five-eighths in 1:12; Lucky B. Half mile in 52; Bellmerc Half mile in 52; Opportunity Half mile in 53; Just Y. Half mile in 03; Enos Half mile in 53.
