FRENCH-BRED YEARLINGS SENT EAST Owner Bianchis Candidates for Fall Racing in KentuckyMaking Room for .Elham Stud Horses, By Thos. B. Cromwell. Lexington, Ky., September 8. John Miller, the veteran equine shipping agent, left here today for New York with fourteen thoroughbred yearlings, which are to be trained for their owners at Eastern tracks. Nine of the fourteen are the property of T. P. Thome and were bred in France. They came over early in the year and were sent here to graze on Hal Price Headleys Beaumont Farm. They comprise a .smooth collection of medium size and ail well-muscled. They have all been named as follows: Fortitude, ch. f, by Magellan Flores II. Glenn, b. c, by Magellan Gastonia. JArrive, b. f, by Magellan Jean Gordon. Ma Denna, b. f, by Magellan Donnarel. Miraglia, b. f, by Rire aux Lannes Morana. Sylvano, br. c, by Magellan La Source. Taraseon. ch. c. by Magellan Tartino II. Serelia, br. f, by Magellan Serie. Sayona, blk. f, by Magellan Sayonara. It will be observed that some of these youngsters have been so named as to easily .suggest its dam. a practice which has come to be a vogue with several of the owners in the. east. Three of the other five yearlings in the car are the property of, David Gideon. They have been at J. V-. Shipp.s Sunny Slope Farm near -Midway. The other two are the colts by The Manager, dams Kings Daughter and Star Cat. respectively, which were recently purchased by. J. E. Widener from Thomas C. McDowell, after they had been approved by trainer Tom AVeich. O. A. Bianchi will have five horses for racing in Kentucky this fall. They are Lucky It., his candidate for the Breeders Futurity, Executive and AVilliamson a couple of two-year-olds that have never started Redland and Chartier. These horses have all done well, trained healthily and are ready to race. There are two yearlings, both by Jim Gaffney, in the Bianchi string. One is a bay filly sister to Emerson Cochran and Lucky B., dam Viola B., by St. Avonicus, a good horse, which was taken to South America by Max Silvers several years ago. The other is a chestnut colt, dam Pepita, by Hanover.; Bianchi named Lucky B. in recollection of the good horse of the same name, which was raced in California a couple of decades ago by the late "LuOky" Baldwin. "As I remember the old Lucky B., this colt is a dead ringer for him," said Bianchi, "and I am hoping that he will harvest the kale for me, as well as the old-timer did for his owner." INCREASE ACREAGE OF KEMPLAND FARM. In order to provide a greater range for the Elham Sttid mares and foals purchased this week in England by Henry1 A. Porter of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Harry Morrissey has added by lease, With an option to purchase, from AAallaee McClelland, . approximately seventy acres of land adjoining his Kemp-land Farm, on the AValnut Hill pike. Mr. Porter said the other day that in all probability he -would purchase the land and put ii house oil it, that he may have a small place of his-own to which he may come for rest. and. .recreation from the strenuosity of the oil business, in which he is engaged and in which it is said he has amassed a considerable fortune. The mares and foals are to come over at rthe first opportunity and-, when they arrive- in Kentucky, the newcomer to the ranks of the breeders will visit Lexington again to have a look at them. Dick Denny, superintendent of Kecneland Farm,-this wee!; weaned the colts and fillies by Luke Mc-Luke and Froglegs, owned in partnership by J. 0. Keene G. II. Keene and John AV. Schorr. He likewise weaned the five English youngsters, owned by the Keene, Long .and Schorr .syndicate. Denny also is breaking thp. fillies by Neil Gow Turkish Princess and Sunflower II. Beautiful Sight, which were purchased recently from the. syndicate by Charles E. Mickelwait He is also breaking five others, which G. II. Keene bought -out "of the sale of yearlings at Saratoga.
