FORTUNE FROM CHEAP BROOD MARE A remarkable instance of on Irish owner making a fortune out of one cheap brood mare is that of the late Peter Murphy, the horses in whose estate were sold in Ireland a few weeks ago. Murphy founded his stiid with a mare nanied Stella, for Which he gave 18, and the sales and winnings of that riiarcs descendants relumed Murphy nearly 25,000- He received 3,000 for Glenesky and Flying Orb, and ,000 for Athellng, the three being from Stella. At the sale subsequent to Murphys death twenty-one descendants of Stella were sold, and some made high prices.
