SUN STAR STOCK iN DEMAND I English Yearling Averages for the Newmarket Sales Show Their Popularity Among Buyers BY E. E. COUSSELL. LONDON, England, July 27. An analysis of the prices realized by the yearlings offered for sale, by liiictlon at tiie Newmarket First and Second July meetings affords some interesting results. The most rehiarkable figures are those afforded by tlie stock of Sunstar. Seven of liis yearlings so far have been sold Without exception they jnade upward of ,000. Four of them .made over 3,500. The fine average of 2,570 for, seven youngsters is a clear indication of demand for Siiiistars. Only" one Tlie Tetrarcli jearling has been offered. There are but two more to come in the sales those from tlie Sledmere fitud. rommerns first yearling was a good one; Seven Spearmints have been sold. In view of Spiou Kofis success in tlie Derby, it could have been expected they would exceed an average of ,100. Only one by Bachelors Double, sire of aomradc, has .been sold; it brought ,7C0. One yearling by Hurry Oil made ,500 and four by Black Jester averaged ,0i2. The following arc tlie averages of the leaders: Horse. Sire. Sold. Average.
