CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF The Italians have been making some imporant purchases of bloodstock m France, and the good race horse and future stallion Munibe and several ?two-year-old colts and yearlings have recently been sent to fresh quarters at PJsa. In addition to the sales of yearlings at Saratoga two important transfers were the sale of the five-year-old chestnut mare Royal Ensign, by UI-timus Baronella, to S. C. nildretli for ,500, and of the four-year-old chestnut filly Ormouda, by Superman Princess Ormonde, to J. E. Widener for :500. The Maryland State Racing Commission has passed a rule requiring race track managers to submit to the commission, not later then ten days before each meeting, a full list of employes. Supplemental lists are to be sent to the commission within tweny-four hours after the appointments or selections are made. Lally, by Amphion, was by far the most successful stallion in Italy last year, his stock having won rates of the value of 9,000. Signorino, by Best Man, came second with 7,000, followed by Guido Reni Melanion, Arconte, by Melton; Codomau, by Cambyse; Fidia, by Bay Rcnald, and Galeazzo, by Galopin. First of the fall running meetings in Maryland Was inaugurated yesterday afternoon at Hagers-town. The beginning of the fair meetings will mark the opening of a. four weeks campaign on the half-mile tracks, before the big sport begins at Havre de Grace. Hagerstown will be followed by Rockviile, Marlboro and Timonium.
