DEBADOU RAN .GREAT RACE ON FLAT; FORMER CHASER MAKES GOOD Pebailous victory in the fourth race at Belmont Park Tuesday is another illustration of the fact that hurdlers and steeplechasers frequently return to the flat and show higher form than ever before. The mile in 1:37 is as good a performance as the Broomstick gelding lias ever been credited with, and Mrs. Whitney, wlio saw the race from a box, was rill smiles after the finish. She was warmly congratulated by her friends over Debadous showing. She bought him to make a jumper, hut his performances through the field have been much below what was expected from any horse of his high turn of speed, and it was decided to put him back on the flat. In the race which Milkmaid and Fair Gnin had such a spirited duel recently Dehadou was the pacemaker for the first seven-eighths.
