HEATH BELL began well on the inside and, setting a good pace, raced RESARF into defeat and although coming wide on the stretch turn, drew away and won easing up. RESARF ran well and was hard ridden most of the way. DELLAHM saved ground when entering the homestretch, but tired in the final drive. SMITHFIELD fenced well and had to be hard ridden to outstav OLD BILL BENDER, but won going away. OLD BILL BENDER ran well, but his rider lost a stirrup at the ninth fene arid lie was forced wide by the winner after taking the thirteenth jump. A claim of foul was not allowed. BLAZONRY began slowly and dropped back in the early running, but saved ground on all the turns and, finishing with a rush next to the inside rail, won in the last strides. THE DECISION set a good pace, but came wide when entering the homestretch and tired in the final strides. HIDDEN SHIP ran well and outstayed MACKENZIE for third place. The latter ran well. ANMUT saved ground when entering the homestretch, but tired in the last sixteenth. PLAYER ran well for three-quarters.
