Whitneys By Jiminy, a frequent winner on the Canadian circuit last summer, accounted for the feature race of the closing days program at Laurel this afternoon when she" won the Manor Handicap, a dash of one mile for two-year-olds, to which ,000 was nilded. By Jiminy, ridden by A. Johnson, was saved until straightened out in the homestretch, then came from behind with a rusli to win easily by a length and a quarter from the tiring Sailing If. The latter mode the pace until in the last eighth before tiring. Step Lightly, the Futurity , raced poorly. She was never dangerous , ht any time, but lasted long enough to beat the Whitney colt Broomspun by a length. The closing day of what was. probably the most successful meeting in the history of the course brought out a tremendous gathering, the crowd being equaled on but few days of the meeting. The-contract that Commander Ross held on jockey T. Nolan expired today and the latter will ride as a free lancet at Pimlico; E. Trueman has turned over three yearlings by Lovetle to W. Slieedy to be raced in Cuba. Trueman will winter the other six yearlings he has by the Borne sire at Bennlng. He also purchased back from Paul Powers the mare Widow Bedotte. W Rawley lias taken over the books of jockeys H. Hamilton and A. Johnson and will make their engagements at Pimlico. SPECIAL LEAVES FOR CUBA. Frank McGinty leaves for Key West tomorrow. Hi will accompany the special horse train which pulls out of Baltimore tomorrow evening for Oriental Park, Havana. Mr McGinty will remain at Key West as representative of the Cuba-American Jockey Club, to assist horsemen and race goers in securing passports and looking after the transportation of the racers destined for the meeting. He has been on the job at Laurel since June 1. .Before" another year rolls around at Laurel a new entrance will have been constructed. It will be built from the Washington-Baltimore pike direct to the grandstand and wJU obviate the necessity of going through the village of Laurel to get to the course. "Jpckey A. Schuttinger will rest during the winter months. He contemplates a trip to California, Nbw Orleans and Cuba. .There will be quite a winter colony at Laurel this year. Among the horsemen. who have already urranged to winter at this course are the Glen Iyer Stable. Harry Rites, witli the J. E. Griffith string, ,R. F. Carman, John Kermath and Eugene Woyland with. the W. J. Salmon string. Fred Burlew shipped the J. H.
