HOPES TO RACE INCHCAPE NEXTEAR From the East come reports that S. C. Hildreth does not despair of bringing the high-priced Inch-cape back to the races next year. It was only a few days after Mr. Hildreth bought the son of Friar Rock from J. H. Rosseter that tlie .colt broke out with a virulent skin disease and his back was so covered with sores that a saddle could not be placed upon it. Hildreth was obliged to gallop him by leading him alongside of a pony in order to give him exercise. While galloping in this manner Inch-cape in a playful mood struck himself on his right foreleg, cutting himself quite severely. It was this that forced Hildreth to throw him out of training. As Iuchcape is such a big horse Hildreth feared to hurry him along and decided to wait until next year before attempting to put him back into training. Having been proclaimed another Man o War it is hoped that Inchcape will respond to the expert treatment of the "wizard" trainer, as Sam Hildreth often has been styled. Certainly, no one has been more successful in patching up cripples than Hildreth and, after paying such a record sum as he did for Inchcape, it would indeed be unfortunate if Ins efforts in this case failed.
