BOUGHT FOR AN AMERICAN The supposition that Mr. John Watsr n bought Vivid and Yokohama for the South-court Stud turns out to have been incorrec t. They were, I believe, bought for a friend f Major August Belmont ; at any rate, thvy go to America. I tried to buy Vivid, but she went beyond my limit. Had I succeeded she would still have been shipped to Xcw York. I did manage to get llosedrop for tiie same client. There is reason to believe she is safe in foal to Somme Kiss, whose owner, Mr. Sherwood, expressed great regret when he learned the mare was to fro abroad. Edward Moorhouse in London Sporting Life.
