With the transmigration of the grand circuit perform- hardly completed the influx of thorough- 1 breds began yesterday afternoon at the Fort Miami track, several shipments arriving from i Cleveland, where they have been resting : since the close of the meeting of the 1 Ohio State Jockey Club at Maple Heights. 1 The following is a complete recapitulation the owners reaching the mile course yesterday: W. H. Brown, Wade Brown, B. J. McCool, Lee Hankins, J. A. Parson, E. E. Rice, R. Martin, J. Batiste, J. G. Bussey, : W. Burkhart,- R, J. Howell, C. Ross, W. Shrewbridge and William Barringer. i General Manager S. N. Holman of the Toledo Jockey Club arrived in the city last night, preceding the thoroughbred shipment, to complete arrangements for the .n-augural meeting, which will be under the auspices of the Tri-State Fair, at the beautiful Fort Miami mile track, one of the finest and fastest in Ohio. The track proper practically in readiness and all that remains for Manager Holman is to give the track a little more cushion for the runners, which experienced turfmen say has no equal anywhere in the land. It will be Toledos introduction to the running sport and Manager Holman and Judge Joseph A. Murphy, who are responsible for the meeting, are bending eveiy effort to make the affair a gigantic success, since on the coming events depends the future of the sport in Toledo. Several of the larger establishments which were resting at Maple Heights, came in Saturday and Sunday. The J. A. Parson stable headed the list of owners. The vanguard of the Cleveland horses will get under way today for Toledo, and it is expected that by the end of the week the transmigration will be complete. Jockey George Williams, who is under contract to the Parson stable, arrived from Pittsburgh and joined his employer. Jockey Ted Wayt accompanied the Rice stable from Cleveland, and jockey II. S. Jones, who will ride as a free lance, came in from Cleveland. Judge Joseph A. Murphy is expected to reach the city today from Chicago, where he has been busying himself with the contemplated resuscitation of the sport in the Windy City.
