PRESAGE A RECORD CROWD Requests for Reservations Pour in to See Zev and My Own Meet in Latonia Championship. LATONIA, Ky., Oct 30. That widespread interest in the meeting of Zev and My Own in the Latonia Championship Stakes next Saturday is penetrating to remote parts is .indicated by the numerous requests for box reservations being received by the Latonia management from points heretofore usually regarded as lacking interest in racing. It foreshadows that Latonia will entertain many visitors making their initial appearance on a racing ground and who will witness a contest by thoroughbreds for the first time. The first-time impression of the new visitors cannot be other than favorable and rebound advantageously to racing as a whole. In the requests for reservations are many names that stand foremost in the affairs of the nation financial circles, mercantile pursuits and sporting. It presages for Saturday a record attendance at Latonia, one that probably will stand for a long time. Another element in the race was injected this morning when advices were received that Rialto, winner of the "Washington Handicap, last Saturday at Laurel, in which he triumphed over some of the best that could be mustered in Maryland, would be among the starters. This brings the field of assured contestants to four. "While the connections of Rialto and In Memoriam feel a certain confidence in their respective candidates chances for success in the race, the real glamour surrounds Zev and My Own. The controversy by their partisans as to superiority of one over the other has waged warm since Zev was selected as the logical American representative to meet Papyrus, Englands entry in the Internationl race. A meeting of the two colts as a result of the mooted question as to superiority of the pair was inevitable. The public demand that they settle the question could not be ignored and their respective owners readily lent ear to general manager Matt J. "Winns plans that they settle the question of supremacy in the Latonia Championship Stakes at Latonia on neutral ground. The raising of tho prize to 0,000 to the winner was the next step. "With the arrival tomorrow of My Own, which was shipped from Baltimore this morning, marks the first step in the consummation of the meeting of the pair. Zev is due to leave New York tomorrow and to arrive Thursday. Ample provision has been made for the reception and comfort of the star racers. My Own will be accompanied by trainer P. M. Burch, who will superintend Admiral Graysons representatives final workout, which will probably be during racing hours Thursday. "With Zev will come trainer Sam Hildreth. Zev has been kept in fine fettle since his hollow victory over Papyrus. He will probably only take a loosening up gallop over the course for his final preparation. Owner Harry P. Sinclair supplemented his former request for box reservation with tho announcement that his party of friends will come here in his private car Sinco. Admiral Grayson also advised that ho 1 would bring here, a party of friends and that they would be on hand Friday. Joseph E. "Wideners party will come in ! his private car from New York. They are due Saturday morning. Rialto is expected to come here Thursday.
