For the first time the names of the jockeys were printed on the program at Pimlico this afternoon. Lord Shaughnessy, of Montreal, was a visitor this afternoon as a guest of Commander J. K. L. Boss. Joe Marrone came over from New York to witness the performance of Anna Marrone II. in the Pikesville purse. Mint Briar, from the W. S. Kilmer stable, came out of his race Saturday quite lame and will be let up on for a brief period. James Fitzsimmons arrived from New York with a division of Quincy stable that will be raced through the remainder of the Maryland season. Trainer A. B. Gordon will ship H. C. Fishers Mr. Mutt from here to Louisville to fulfill his engagement in the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes. A. Swenke, at private terms, purchased from "Bed" Healey the two-year-old Ebony Belle, which will be included in the Swenke shipment to New Orleans. Abe Hallow deserted the Yonkers racing for the opening of Pimlico and will remain for the meeting. He will finish out the fall season at Bowie when his horses will go into winter retirement. Jockey J. Butwell resumed riding today following a lay-off due to injuries. William Martin will look after his engagements at this meeting. Butwell may return to Cuba to ride during the winter. When Senator Norris was winner of the first race today, he brought added fame to the young sire Cudgel. Every cblt that the Boss stallion has sired has earned brackets this year. Joseph E. Davis, president of the National Steeplechase and Hunt Association, came on from New York for the opening. Mr. Davis said that the drawing for the subscription jumpers bought abroad would be completed ou November 14 -
