JUVENILES AT TANFORAN Big Band of Two -Year-olds Training for Debutante Stakes. A. B. Spreckels, Rudolph Spreckels, T. F. Ryan, Marchhank Stable Have Promising Candidates Ready for This Feature. SAN FRANCISCO, Cal., Oct. 30. There are tbout eighty-five two-year-olds in training at Tanforan Park, the majority of which are being pointed for the Debutante Stakes, scheduled for decision Wednesday, November 7. The A. B. Speckels candidates are Run-pour, Runclair and Runchief, all sired by the great stallion, Runnymede. that has been at Napa for some years past. J. W. Marchbanks string promises to furnish some keen competition. Marchbank has some of the best bred young horses in training. His list is Lovelace, by Ormondale Gracenote ; Snooksie Bradley, by Rock View Russian Sable; Ida Frances, by Sweep Lady Eastman, and Isabelle George, by Under Fire Caprice. Mrs. A. F. Dayton has a great colt in Doc Horn, by Flying Squirrel Debutante, and he has been working impressively. There are several bred by George W. Wingfield at his Reno breeding establishment Proto de Oro, by Honeywood Envy, and Josephine Newell, by Atheling H. Purse Rose, are fast ones. CRACK OMAR KHAYYAM COLT. Thomas Fortune Ryans Oak Ridge Stable has Cano, an Omar Khayyam Bonnie Tess colt, and Plough Boy. a Friar Rock Passing Shower colt, entered and trainer Johnny Lof-tus has been going right along with the pair. Rudolph Spreckels will possibly pick two other color bearers in the Debutante from Combustor, by Hand Grenade Rural Delivery; Combustion, by Hand Grenade Mor-thenia; Contusion, by Hand Grenade Lar-sina, and Publicity, by War Fame Simonda. Eddie Taplin, the crack rider, has arrived and is under contract to Rudolph Spreckels, and this will be advantage for the young horses. Battle Shot, from the Meadowbrook Stock Farm at Pleasanton, is a fast filly and won at Tijuana this year. The horses of the Mira Monte Stock Farm, near San Jose, that have arrived at Tanforan are entered as the property of Dr. H. J. Macomber and not his brother, A. K. Macomber, who is now in France. There is quite a string, including Story Teller, Hellihoic, The Dictator, The Arcanian, The Corsair, Spread-eagle, Bayonet, Katrinka, Music Box, Vesper Bells, Brimstone, The Coyote, Love Song, Liberty Loan, Speed Ball, Gunsight, Freebooter and The Falconer. J. B. Clark wired racing secretary Robert F. Leighton yesterday that four horses and an apprentice jockey had left Dayton, Wash., for Tanforan, in charge of E. Mark-ham. The horses are: Eelman, Worthman, Bernice E., and Shadow Spark. Johnny Coleman is going to gallop Knob-bie for a couple of days before deciding whether or not he will enter the crack performer in the Inaugural Handicap. Knobbie has just been off the cars a couple of days, but if he takes his work well, he will be sent to the post. General manager John D. Stelling announces a big advance ticket sale that gives indication of a banner crowd on opening day.
