Garth the Trainers. One of the outstanding spring meetings of . the year came to an end when Dimlico closed j its gates Tuesday, May 13, after ten days of , high-class sport. Tlie Maryland Jockey Club j during that period provided seventy races and distributed the imposing total of 45,940 j in f.takes and purses, the daily average distribution amounting to 2,35and. "Bud" Fisher, by virtue of the success of i Nellie Morso. heads the list of money winning owners with 8,750 to bis credit. II. P. Jleadleys invasion of the East netted him the goodly sum of 5,990.. J. S. Cosden met with marked success, his horses accounting for six races and 7,500. Nellie Morses Preakness and Pimlico Oaks triumphs added 8,750 to the coffers of his owner and placed that superb filly at the * top of the list of winning horses. Chacolet won the first revival of the famous Pixie j. Handicap and, as it was worth 4.S40 to the I winner, that wonderful mare figured second I to Nellie Morse in money earned during the • meeting. Single Foot, Shuffle Along, Ex- J treme, Martingale and Transmute were others , that figured prominently in the money dis- | tribution. E. Seobie, with nine winning mounts, tops : tho list of the jockeys participating in the . meeting. P. Hum, K. Barnes, B. Marinelli j -arid J. Wallace also riding with success. Wm. Garth carried off the training honors J of the meeting, saddling ten winners. C. H. j Shilling was second with six, while T. J. j Healey and W.
