• j BEAU BUTLER IMPRESSIVELY j E. £. Bradleys Derby Hope in Company With Bob Tail Works a Mile and a Quarter. LOUISVILLE. Ky., May 14.— After the running of the fifth race today, the Kdward R. Bradleys Derby candidates. Beau Butler and Bob Tail, were brought on the track by trainer Thompson and both showed a good final trial for the big race when they finished out the mile and a quarter in 2:10%. Both •were equipped with blinkers and Beau Butlers showing was decidedly impressive. He went along under a nice steadying restraint all the way and leading from end to end had a bit left at the end. The fractions were:- :12% for the first eighth, :24% for the quarter and at that pole Bean Butler drew out slightly and he reached the half in :50%. The five-eighths mark was reached in 1 :03%, the mile in 1:42%, the mile and an eighth in 1:56% and the mile and a quarter in 2 :10%. Through the backstretch Bob Tail moved up on his stablemate and at the head of the stretch he was brought up to Beau Butler again, but the winner of the Pimlico Futurity of last year always held him perfectly safe and finished out the route strongly.
