i l ! i ] BACK RIVER JOCKEY. CLUB New York Financial Interests Are Reported to Have Assumed Mt. Royal Responsibilities. MONTREAL. Que., May 14.— Strong Xew York racing interests will, it is reported, carry the financial responsibilities when the Mount Royal track opens the Montreal racing season May 17. The reported new financial arrangements are said to have been made by T. .1. Duggan, managing director of the Rack River Jockey Club, when he was in Xew York recently in connection with his international hockey plans. The reported new interests will help the track in more ways than one, for it is their intention to secure many high-class runners from the Xew York tracks and enter them in the handicaps at the Rack River course. Which years ago attracted some of the best t.ass horses racing in the Dominion. Director Duggan is now in Xew York. Extensive improvements are to be made to the plant later in the year with a view to catering to the better class of racing and patronage. Rucado and C.oldmark, two Xew Orleans winners, were among seven arrivals at the track recently. Twelve came in from Chattanooga, and in all there are about 150 here, ready for racing, with many more to come from other points. ■ — *
