WOODBINES FINE MEETING * Total of 29,640 Distributed During Seven Days Meeting. ♦ J. K. L. Ross and Seagram Stable the Big "Winners — Digit Tops the Horses, E. Seobie the Jockeys. ♦—— The first of the spring meetings under the Jurisdiction of the Canadian Racing Associations was held at Woodbine from May 17 to May 24 and during the seven days of racing the imposing sum of 29,640 was distributed in stakes and purses, the daily average distribution amounting to 8,520. Commander J. K. I„. Ross began his Canadian campaign auspiciously at Woodbine, horses from his establishment winning five races and 1,280. The Montreal turfman had a dangerous rival in the Seagram Stable, which accounted for six races and 0,115. The Queen City Stable, E. F. Whitney and H. S. Wilson also figured prominently during the meeting. Digit, with the Toronto Cup and Woodstock Plate to his credit, heads the list of money-winning horses, of which Maternal Pride, the Kings Plate winner, Guingamp, Deep Thought and New Hampshire also were substantial money earners.
