Won handily: second and third driving. SOUTHERN PACIFIC set the pact throughout, but was ridden hard near the end to retain his advantage. NORTH BREEZE dropped far back in the first eighth, but gained steadily after rounding the far turn and outgamed VICTOR M. in the final drive. VICTOR M. ran well and finished gamely, although tiring. GORDON SHAW closed i;p gamely on the last quarter and was wearing the winner down. SISTER JOSELLA worked her way up on the inside after rounding the far turn, but tired in the last sixteenth. THE ITJSTER finished gamely. AILSIE VERNOR was going well midway of the stretch when she was forced wide. PERHAPS can do much better. ULMBLE dropped out of contention after going well to the stretch.
