The latter was outrun from the start, but worked his way up steadily and finished fastest of all. LAPLANDER came very wide when entering the stretch. KENTUCKY CARDINAL closed up some ground. ZUKER could never get to the leaders. SINGLE FOOT and CLOUDLAND quit. POCANTICO could never get a clear course.
