TOPPANITE raced in closest pursuit of the early pacemakers and, responding gamely when called on, came on the outside and, finishing witli excellent speed, won easing up. BELLE WOOD raced ROYAL PEARL into defeat, but could not withstand the winners rush. ROYAL PEARL raced into the lead, but tired. SEA TIDE finished resolutely on the outside. Won handily; second and third driving. CLKM THEISEN followed the pacemaker in closest pursuit under restraint and stood hard riding gamely to outlinish PENNON and won going away. The latter was outrun from the start, but moved into a contending position by saving ground on the turn into the stretch and finished gamely. FAST MACK was outrun, but raced well and caught CHLORIS in the final stride. CHLORIS was forced to be taken back slightly while going to the first turn and settled into her stride in third place, but tired under her weight. DOC GAIETY was forced back on the first turn. EL JESMAR saved ground on all the turns and took the lead, but gave way before the rush of the winner, then was gaining on her again at the end. YOSHIMI-saved ground on the first turn, but came wide on the last turn and, finishing with a rush, would have won in a few more strides.
