WOODBINE AUTUMN STAKES Great Array of High-Class Horses for Rich Fixtures to Be Run From Sept. 24 to Oct. 1. TORONTO, Ont, Sept. 15. That the policy of the Ontario Jockey Club in maintaining the high standard set by the club for the encouragement of long-distance racing and stecplechasing is appreciated by those having the best interests of the Canadian turf at heart is evidenced in the flattering response received for the stake events to be run at the autumn meeting at "Woodbine Park, from "Wednesday, September 24, to "Wednesday, October 1. The entries combine both quality and quantity, and promise some rare sport at the picturesque lakeside track the last week of the month. Despite the "falling market" the Ontario Jockey Club has maintained the value of all stakes and purses, and the horsemen will race at "Woodbine for a total of 21,000, ol which the sum of 6,000 will be given in purses for the steeplechasers.
