BARGAIN DAY came past the others on the stretch turn and, racing into the lead, won easing up. BROKEN TOY raced into the lead on the last turn and showed the way in the stretch, where she was taken under resfraint when BARGAIN DAY appeared the winner. SILVER SLIPPERS ran well, but began tiring after reaching the last eighth and just lasted for third place under hard riding. WATERFLAG raced prominently all the- way. LADY FINNELL was taken back on the first turn and ridden wide. .. . Wen driving; second and third the same. PURE DEE began forwardly and, after racing prominently for the first five-eighths, stood a hard drive in the stretch and outfinished NEWMARKET. The latter, after beginning slowly and being far back to the last turn, came with a rush in the stretch, but tired a trifle near the end. BROTHER JOHN raced into the lead with a rush and set a fast pace, but began tiring in the last eighth. MACBETH ran a good race. JUPITER closed a big gap. ALLIE OCHS tired after reaching the stretch. DENNY in the stretch, held BOURBON BOY safe through the final sixteenth and won in a canter. BOURBON BOY was taken back and saved for the first half mile, but came gamely through the last quarter. CANNON SHOT was outrun for the first three-quarters and came fast through the stretch. J. G. DENNY set a fast pace and was raced into exhaustion in the first three-quarters. BRAEDALBANE raced into the lead cn the last turn, but tired badly in the last sixteenth. MISS CERINA was gaining at the end under good riding. ABSTRACT, also away well, was tiring at the end after racing in closest and game pursuit. SON OF JOHN began slowly and was taken back and ridden wide on the turns, but finished gamely and would have won in a -few strides. PYROOT ran well, but began tiring in the stretch.
