.TRUE AMERICAN IN FRONT Takes Principal Race at Brooklyn Park, Making Double for Veteran Jockey, Joe Dreyer. CLEVELAND, Ohio, Oct 17. Finishing with good courage after rounding the turn , for home, True American drew away in the i stretch to a handy victory over Lafe M. and Pearl Boots, in the fifth and main race at Brooklyn Park this afternoon. His success marked a double for the veteran jockey, Joe Dreyer, who rides and trains his own horses. Tho victory of Haidee, which led through- - out the sixth race also made it a double for the Powell Stable as the speedy but unsound Beg Pardon made a show of his opponents in the fourth event. He never was threatened after taking command in the first sixteenth. Dr. MacMillan scored his third success for Gene Lutz, when he annexed the initial race after leading throughout. Long Green and ; John A. Scott Jr. were outpaced in the early stages of their races but came from behind rounding the stretch turn to eventually win handily. Boy From Home had the speed of those contesting the concluding race and made every post a winning one. t Another large turn out of the fair sex swelled tho ladies day crowd considerably . and the attending conditions were favorable. 1 Following the running of the third race John A.
