LAUREL PARK NOTES LAUREL, Md., Oct 17. E. J. Holland claimed Jolly from H. Dougherty for ?3,000. J. Wallace departed for New York to ride Donaghee in his stake engagement at Empire City tomorrow. W. J. Salmon came from New York and will remain for the Epinard race. He was highly elated over the victory of his Contract. In order that the infield may be thrown open for the relief of. congestion on the lawn tomorrow, the jumping race was moved to first position on the program. C. H. Hughes claimed H. R. Frecks Sea Man for ,000 and W. Sims parted with ?5,-000 to take Batsman from the Crown Point stable. Batsman, Time Exposure and Ebb Tide will be shipped to Tijuana Sunday. R. C. Frame outdrew W. Schadt and G. E. Fitzgerald and obtained Tjandi from G. W. Campbell on a claim of ?2,300, a 00 advance over the price at which Campbell took the imported colt from J. K. L. Ross last time out Judge Francis Nelson, Canadian Racing Associations steward and presiding steward at Tijuana, is expected here tomorrow to confer with Eugene Leigh and Max Hirsch over the prospects of getting Epinard and Sarazen to Tijuana next winter for a pair of special races. James Milton received cable advices from H. D. "Curiey" Brown that racing at Oriental Park will open November 29, Thanksgiving day, and that judge William Shelley will have tho condition books ready for distribution in a week. It is understood that judge Shelley will be presiding steward and that judge C Cornehlsen will return to the Cuban track for the winter.
