Won handily; second and third driving. AKBAR began quickly and, setting a good pace, drew away into a safe lead, but was tiring at the end. CANISTER was shuffled back shortly after the start, but worked his way up on the outside and finished fast. CARTHAGE also closed a gap and finished with a rush. WRACKLANE showed early speed, but tired. CONFLUENTE ran well. POLE STAR began in a tangle. GOOD WILL was forced back after the start. BATTLEMAN and TETON tired. Won driving; second and third the : same. FRIGATE set a fast pace, saved ground on all the turns and, racing RIVAL into defeat, withstood a game challenge frcm McAULIFFE in the final eighth. McAULIFFE followed the winner closely , and, moving up resolutely after rounding the stretch turn, finished with a rush. WILKES-BARRE I closed a big gap in the last quarter and finished fast. The latter began slowly, but gained steadily and finished fastest of all. LEVOY raced close up all the way and finished fast. CANYON showed the most early speed and set a good pace to the stretch.
