HAVANA RACING ASSURED H. D. Brown Takes Over Control of Oriental Park Meeting Opens Thanksgiving. HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 17. H. D. Brown, who built tho Oriental Park track at Mariannao, is again at the head of a syndicate that will have control of this beautiful course, one of the finest race tracks in the world. The syndicate includes residents of Havana and Brown, who will act as managing director and presiding steward, while the popular Frank Bruen will continue as general manager. The winter season of racing at Oriental Park will open on Thanksgiving day, November 29, and continue for 100 more days. Brown will leave here next Monday for Cincinnati, where he will have a conference with race horse owners October 22 and afterward make announcement as to purses, stakes and racing conditions. Later ha will go to his xancli at Mount Shasta, Cal., to make arrangements for sending his sixteen race horses to the Tijuana track for the winter, as he does not desire to race them on a course which he controls.
