W. H. SHELLEY IN OLD JOB Will Return to Position of Racing Secretary and Placing Judge for Kentucky Jockey Club. LOUISVILLE, Ky., Nov. 1. At the close of the Churchill Downs fall meeting William II. Shelley will return to the Kentucky Jockey Club fold, where, for over twenty years he was one of its most popular and valued members. General manager M. J. Winn has appointed Mr. Shelley to his old position of racing secretary and chief placing judge. In addition to his other duties he will have charge of the handicapping. J. S. Wallace will resume his former place as assistant racing secretary and will also aid in the handicapping. Mr. Shelley will work during the winter in Cuba, but he will not neglect the details of his work as racing secretary of the Kentucky Jockey Club and will have his stake and condition book for the spring meeting at Churchill Downs ready for early distribution.
