Won easily; second and third driving. BARLEYCORN followed ST. LAWRENCE closely under restraint and, responding gamely when called on, passed him in the final quarter and won. going away. ST. LAWRENCE made the pace but, while Jumping excellently, tired slightly when challenged. MITRAILLEUSE followed the leaders closely for a turn of the field and began falling back. GRAYLETTE ran out at the tenth and at the thirteenth jumps. SAN DIMAS threw his rider over his head in landing at the ninth obstacle. FLYING SCOTCHMAN turned a somersault at the third jump. THE ROLL CALL showed the most speed to near the end, but tired slightly in the last sixteenth. RIGEL suffered from interference on the first turn and tired after racing into second place on the stretch turn. BELPIIRIZONIA closed a gap and finished well. CALCUTTA lost ground ou the turns.
