AVon handily; second and third driving. SOMERBY set the pace from the start, but had to be ridden hard at the end to withstand ACOUCHLA II. The latter was hard ridden in closest pursuit all the way and was wearing the leader down at the end. SANCIIO PANSY was hard ridden to withstand GONAVITIIIM. GALLEON raced under restraint for the first three-eighths, then moved up on the inside with a rush into the lead and drew away in the final drive. BODANZKY began slowly, but gained steadily and outgamed the tiring KEAOLANI. The latter was much used in hard racing with CEDRIC for the first three-eighths. CEDRIC set a fast early pace and quit. MALA was away forwardly and led for most of the way, but tired slightly at the finish. PROTECTRESS began slowly and raced on the outside of the leaders, but finished fast and would probably have won, but for meeting slight interference when the winner swerved out in the stretch. GOLDMARK was shuffled back at the start, but closed a big gap and finished resolutely. CAPTAIN KINNARNEY tired badly in the stretch. DUSTMAN saved ground when entering the stretch, but had to be ridden out hard to withstand CAPT. CLOAER and drew clear at the end. The latter moved up fast into the lead in the stretch, but tired. PERHAPS began slowly and raced in close quarters to the stretch, but finished fast. DUELMA ran upon the heels of the other horses at the eighth post and was pulled up. Scratched 853953Bigwig, 97. .
