Swenke the Trainers and V. Harvey the Jockeys. ♦ The Bowie spring meeting opened on April 1 and came to an end April 13. During the eleven days of racing there were seventy-seven races decided and the Southern Maryland Agricultural and Fair Association distributed 03,800 in stakes and purses, the daily average distribution amounting to ,436. The Greentree Stable was the largest winner among the owners participating in the | racing, accounting for ,140. H. P. Whitney was second with ,380 and Mrs. A. Swenke third with ..»50. Leopardess won the most money among the hors?s. topping the list with ,f 40. Reparation accounted for ,530 and John S. Mosby finished third with ,700. The training honors fell to A. Swenke, who saddled six winners, I. C. Winfrey being second with five and C. Phillips third with four. Jockey W. Harvey, who was the star of the New Orleans winter meeting, rode in sensational style at Howie leading both in the number of winning mounts and percentage. Harvey rode nineteen winners out of fifty-nine mounts for a percentage of .32, while Harry Stutts piloted ten winners out of forty-eight mounts. The owners who won 00 or more each follow :
