REPORTS MANYFOALS « ♦ Cross Cut and Luck Stone Drop Youngsters at Nursery • W. F. Poison, Buffalo Turfman, on i Visit to Blue Grass to Inspect Stock — Breeding Notes. • IJ3XINGTON, Ky.. April 14— Quite a num- j ber of thoroughbred foals were reported by breeders in the Blue Grass last week. The , latest arrivals at the Nursery Stud were announced by Mrs. Elizabeth Kane. One is a bay filly by Fair Play— Cross Cut a , four-year-old mare by Hourless, from Cross- « ways, by Octagon, and she from the good j mare Lucy Cross, by St. Simon. The other is a bay filly by Fair Play— . Lucky Stone dam of four winners, by Rock Sand— Lack-a-Daisy. by Petrarch. These . mares and their foals are to go under the hammer in the Nursery Stud dispersal sale : here May 13. * Frederick Johnsons June Rose, by Myram, son of Flying Fox, foaled a brown colt by Brown Prince II. at Scarlet Gate Farm, and • Is to be bred back to that good horse, by whom Mr. Johnson has in his string this year two exceptional two-year-olds. W. F. Poison of Buffalo was here to see his horse in training at the Kentucky Association track and his breeding stock at Crystal Springs Farm, now under lease to Messrs. Dale and Dalziel. THREE PEACE PENNANT FILLY FOALS. There are three filly foals by Peace Pennant in the Poison band, they being daughters of Beth Miller, by Miller ; Lamp Post, by Sweep, and Myrka, by Peter Quince. The first named two mares were returned to Peace Pennant and Myrka goes to Basil. Both Peace Pennant and Basil are owned by Poison and are standing at Crystal Springs Farm. John H. Rosseter last week booked one of his mares to Peace Pennant, a good son of McGee, from an Ogden mare, and he seems ! likely to carry the line of the good old sire of Exterminator, and the daddy of numerous daughters that are making good at the stud. S. K. Nichols reports a chestnut colt by King Gorin — Hill Top. by Clifford, she from 1 Whiplash, by Ben Strome, at his Spring ; Valley Farm, and a black colt by Omar Khayyam, from Clare, by Bannockburn, she from Augusta Victoria, by Sain, which mare ! also has a brown colt by King Gorin. Augusta Victoria is from Sister Josephine, by Hanover. Three foals and none of them fillies, makes the owner of EL E. Coleman smile. The ! three mares have been returned to King » Gorin, which has some rather alluring prospects J among the two-year-olds at the local track. One that already has won in Cuba 1 is Harry Carroll, the property of William 1 Dondas. Armilda, by Bryn Mawr, out of Arline, by The Commoner, owned in partnership by Colonel "Bob" Baker and his brother "Jack," has a chestnut colt by King Gorin and has been returned to him. Another foal at Spring Valley Farm is a chestnut filly by Dominant, from Ginger Quill, by Star Shoot, the property of C. E. Hamilton of Covington. Ginger Quill this season visits Wildairs court. Judge John S. Wallaces mare Vision, by Helmet, has a chestnut filly sister to Air Castle, by Manager Waite, and goes to Whiskaway this year. Lady Minta winner of the Oaks at Newmarket, is a daughter of Spearmint, pur-chased in England by Tom B. Young for C. B. Shaffers Coldstream Stud, has a bay colt by Eternal and goes to Black Toney. Miss Elizabeth Daingerfields Ringlets, by Frizzle, has a chestnut filly by High Cloud and goes to Golden Broom. FARAWAY FARMS ARRIVALS. Latest arrivals at Faraway Farms, the establishment of Samuel D. Riddle and Walter M. Jeffords, are a chestnut colt by Gollen Broom — Perfection, by Ballot, and a bay filly by High Time — Lady Comfey, by Roi Hcrode. Perfection is to be returned to Golden Broom, and Lady Com fey goes to Man o War. At Scotland Farm, in Franklin County, the property of J. Swigert Taylor of Frankfort, Utopia dam of Utica and Taudlane, by Stalwart, has a chestnut colt by Ballot and is to be returned to Ballot. Messrs. A. E. Hundley and Sons report eight foals by Upset at their Monsetta Stud, near Danville, in Boyle County. Miss Mink;. Gypsy Gold. Green Pepper and Jessie Louise have a filly each, and Handora Girl, Saint Theresa, Molly Reach and Homy Mine have colts. All of these mares go to Captain Al-cock this year. Handy Ann, by Astronomer, has a bay colt by Upset at the farm of W. S. and K. S. Cleveland, near Versailles, in Woodford County. Mexoana, by Mexican, has a chestnut colt by Pillory at It. T. Wilsons Kirklevington Stud, where also there is a chestnut colt by Tall Timber, from Fantasque by Disguise, and a bay filly by Oampfire, from Sally N, by Josh. Risette, by Roi Herode, another of the English mares at Coldstream Stud, has a chestnut filly by Pennant and goes to My Play. Mrs. R. C Thraves reports two foals at her Longridge Farm, one being a chestnut filly by Harry Shaw, from April Girl, by Creenways Best, and the other a bay colt by Leonardo II., from Martha Lee dam of four winners, by Marta Santa.
