SIXTY-SIX NOMINATIONS Received in 5,000 Added Cincinnati Derby to Be Run at Coney Island, Sat. July 25. CINCINNATI. Ohio. Junp 14.— Officials of the new Cincinnati rnce course at Coney Island are highly gratified with the thorough success. In number and luality. nt the closing of their twelve stakes on June 6. Compilation of nominations is nearly finished and shows over eight hundred entries to these fixtures. Racing secretary Nathanson pointed out recently that the late closing of the big stakes means the elimination of materi/il that has tK-en found wanting since the early months of the year, and resultant lists are made up of active proved perfo-uiers. Entries for the I.atonia Derby closed early In the year Since the date of its closing time and performance naturally have taken their toll as to fitness and class. Because of the advantage accruing to the Coney Island event because of its later closing, the Cincinnati Derby has a considerable number of candidates not eligible to the big Latonia Derby.
