Faber. secretary and general manager of the Ohio State Jockey Club, which controls Maple Heights track announced on his return to the city that he had virtually completed all arrangements incidental to the opening of the annual spring meeting at Maple Heights. May S to SI, a iieriod of twenty racing days. The main attrtaction will be the fourth renewal of the Ohio State I »erby for three-year-olds at a mile and an eighth, with an added value of 0,000. The conditions provide for penalties and allowances and will close May 1.",. the date upon which the historic Kentucky Derby will be decided and which usually furnishes considerable material and perhaps the winner of the rich classic- as in the case the year Black Cold won both the Kentucky and Ohio Derbies. W. B. Xorvell who will serve as presiding judge and racing secretary at Maple Heights, has submitted the conditions for his program for the first ten days of the meeting and they are now in the hands of the printer and will be distributed among the horsemen within the next few days. The balance of the book will be made as near as is possible to suit the horses on the grounds. Messers Joseph A Murphy and John T. Ireland will he in charge of the racing department and will alternate on the closing and opening days at Beulah Iark and Maple Heights respectively.
