MARYLAND TURF NOTES HAVRE DE GRACE, Md . April ti. J. P. Smith reports that the plater Carol has been taken down with a slight attack of fever. Jockey O. Bourassa was an arrival from the Seagram farm at Waterloo. Canada, where he has been assisting trainer Bringloe in getting the Seagram horses into shape for the Toronto spring meeting. Bourassa will do the riding for the Seagram Stable at the Havre de Grace and Pimlico meetings. His engagements are being made by harles Hagen. Joe Bauer has arranged to pack his traps and leave with his horses for Jamaica at the conclusion of the present meeting. Frank J. Kearns will ship his racers to the same track some day next week. When the racing at Havre de Gram comes to a dose Frank Farrar and J. W. lyewis will send their horses to Aurora where a twenty-seven day meeting is scheduled for this spring. Kdward F. Whitney is expected lure to-i morrow. His departure from New York has bfecn delayed for several days through a slight indisposition. Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Salmon were at the course this morning bright and early watching trainer T. J. Healey put the Salmon racers through their paces. The Preakmss Stakes candidates Irsa Major, Display and Flight of Time were all sent three-quarters: Display in 1:M%, and the other two in l is. Wilderness galloped three-quarters in 1:1$%. Jockey Douglas Fisher, who rode a numher of winners at the Oriental Park meeting m Cuba, has signed up with tin V. M. Jeffords stable. Norman Kennedy, who suffered a broken limb as a result c.f a fall while riding through the field at Pimlico last fall, is up and about again. He was confined to his bed until Christmas and the plaster cast was not removed from his leg until February. Kennedy is still with the Brookmeade Stable, but will not be seen in the saddle until later in the season at Belmont Park. Woods Garth has arranged to skip a division of the Garth stable to the Woodbine track immediately following the close of racing at Havre de Grace. Several of the jumpers in the stable will be included in the shipment. William Irvine also plans to send the TiA2zi F. Tiutr-ey horses to Toronto after the Pimlico meeting. lieutenant Seas, tfas cross country lmrse in the W. G. Wilson stable, is expected to reach Pimlico this afternoon. He- j* being shipped from Canada, where he has hcen in winter quarters at a farm near Toronto. W. Irvine has taken up four t wo-year-oid ■ which he had turn«*d out at James Arthurs farm in the Lsjps; Green Valley. They are all home-breds. The plans are to reserve this quartet for the fall meetings in Man -land. The Garths Bra considering offers made for the two good fillies Beatrice Noyes and 1ub Steak and a transfer will likely be made in the next few days.
