Murphy has received word that the executive committee of the Louisiana Jockey lub has granted a syndicate headed by himself and composed of part of the official family, the exclusive right to conduct auction sales at the Fair Orounds next winter. It is proposed to conduct these sales whenever the material is offered and as then- is a riady market it is thought the plan will prove popular with breeders who send horses to race there and do not wish to carry them north. The Fair Grounds meeting will run to April I next year, within a few weeks of the principal northern meetings. Judge Murphy will personally conduct the sales for the syndicate which will be composed of Joseph McLennan, John T. Ireland, Herman Conk-ling. Manager J. M Murphy and J. i. M urphv. *
