ROYAL ASCOlS FINAL DAY Lancegaye Defeats Bassoon for Hardwicke Stakes — Review Order Takes Jersey Stakes. SPECIAL CABLEGBAM. LONDON, England. June 18.— The going was heavy for the final day of the Boyal Ascot meeting today. S. W. M. G. Singers Lancegaye. which finished second to Coronach in the Epsom Derby, made good at 1 to 4 in the Hardwicke Stakes, defeating Bassoon by a neck, with Spartacus, the only other starter, two lengths back. Lord Barnbys Review Order won the Jersey Stakes from Play Boy, with Friar Wile in third place. The winner was at 4 to 1 in the betting. Play Boy was the choice at 5 to 2 and Friar Wile was at 6 to 1. Heview Order won by three parts of a length and ttie favorite took second place by a margin of three lengths. The Windsor Castle Stakes resulted in victory lor the favorite. Major MeCulmonts Fourth Hand, which was quoted at 100 to 30. i .a Douairiere. at 100 to 6, beat Cacanne. which was at the same odds, for second place. Fourth Hands winning margin was a head. Captain Him beat Martenex and Ethnarch in the Wokingham Stakes. This victory was a surprise, as Capture Him was at 20 to I. He just got up to win by a head. Twenty-nine horses started in the race. Mel-rush, at 20 to 1, won the Ascot Highweight Handicap from Kings Parade, with Aske third. Yermilion Pencil beat Cloudbank and Trie: Trac II. in the Alexandra Stakes.
