! FAIRMOUNT TURF NOTES I COLLINSVILLE, 111., June 19. Joseph L. Rhinock, who is extensively interested in the Fairmount Jockey Club, came from California to be on hand to witness the running of the Derby. He is all agog over the rapid progress they are making in their effort to establish racing in California and predicts that those trying to restore the sport in the golden state will meet with success. Jockey Earl Sande and L. Morris, respective riders of Haste and Dr. Cardenas, came near not being able to fill their engagements. Both were caught in a traffic jam on the highway that tlui-at.-n.il to keep them stationary until after the race was over. The forethought and kindliness of a member of the state highway patrol saved them, for he conveyed them on his own motorcycle to the track. They reached the jockeys room as the borses were going to the post in the fourth race. Secretary of State L. L.
