MAX BRICK REPEATER ♦ Scores Well Earned Triumph in Lincoln Handicap. » Auroras Most Successful Meeting Comes to an End With Big Crowd in Attendance. ♦ AURORA. 111., June 10.— The most successful race meeting ever held at Exposition Park came to an end today with a capacity crowd in attendance. The weather was ideal for outdoor sport, while the track was at Its best, with the result that fast time was recorded in a majority of the contests. The feature offering: of the Exposition Park Jockey Club for the closing; day was the fifth, the Lincoln Handicap at one and one-sixteenth miles and witnessed Moshier k Wallers- Max Brick repeat his last pood race in a fine manner, scoring; a well earned victory over C E. Durnells Smiling C.us and BL Peabodys President. .lack Alexander cut out all the early pace and Ivld sway Hot the first three-quarters, hut began tiring. Max Prick had gained steadily and worked his way up to the leader and. passing the latter readily entering the stretch, continued on gamely and held Smiling Ous safe during the hard drive which ensued in the last seventy yards. President, after racing under restraint to the stretch, closed up rapidly in the final eighth, hut was utiahle to reach the leaders and had to bo content with gaining second place. Cogwheel and Cross P.ow took a prominent part in this event hut gave way rapidly when the final drive came. KNOT GRASS A SIRPRISE. A. Millers Knot Crass, racing in good form and showing keen speed all the way, proved a surprise in annexing the opener at three-quarters, in which fourteen starters faced the harrier. The winner was away-well and. passing the early leaders in the stretch, held on gamely in the final drive to outstay May Puddy. The latter, in turn, barely outstayed Karachi for third place. Another surprise came with the running of the second race, when J. S. Kindschers Rock Bottom, after following the leaders closely to the stretch, closed fast when clear of interference in the last eighth and won going away. Rocking, one to suffer sharply from rei»eated interference, also finished going fast and got up for second place in outstaying Poomerang In the following race. P. M. Seversons Sis Carry, in keeping up with the others In registering surprising successes, accounted for the victory and. after a quick heginning. showed the way to her opponents all the way to graduate fr m the maiden class. Fthel Oallig.r. alter racing in closest pursuit, was pressing the winner closely near the end and gained second place. Queen of Sheha raced well throughout and secured I third place after a hard struggle with The Hovel and Mayor Behrman. KM Hi:VUT IN FRONT. T. II Bernhardt* Red Heart came through for the puhlic in the fourth race, the first favorite to get down in front during the afternoon The winner was outrun in the early staues when Miss Jennie set a furious pace, closely followed by Kinday. Red Heart raced close In the rear of these two and. ! when Miss Jennie showed visible signs of tiring on reaching the stretch, then took over to the outside of the leaders and. finishing gamely, rapidly overhauled Kinday and Downcast in the last few yards to draw clear at the end. Kinday held on well in the fitial drive after a splendid performance and managed to outlast 1 owncast for second place. The largest fields of the meeting were the order for today, thirteen, fourteen and fifteeri starters in the early races causing; much crowding and interference. Fortunately, no mishaps or accidents occurred. R. I.. Sullivans Libert proved another great surprise in scoring a hack victory in the sixth race over the Trimble Course route.
