Advance I orby mutuel booths were installed for the accommodation of those desirous of placing early wagers on the Derby, and received consderable attention. .louet Shousc, former assistant secretary of the U. S. Treasury, came from his home in Kansas City to witness the Derby running. State Senator Kdward Hughes of Illinois and Charles W. Bidwill came over from Chicago to witness the inaugural Fairmount Derby running. They both departed for Chicago tonight. Handsome souvenir programs for Derby Day were the order at Fairmount Saturday, being more or less replicas of the ones distributed at Churchill Downs for the Kentucky Derby. Trainer Stotlers plans were to ship Rock Man back to New York Sunday, while Ham Keene intends to delay the transportation of Haste until Monday morning. P. Martinez will return to Fairmount Sunday from Omaha, whither he went to ride C. B. Irwins All Over in the feature at that point Saturday. O. Laidley also has gone to ride at Omaha for the current meeting there. C. Koerner has the contract orr jockey J. Petz. who will do the riding for that stable! F. Mormile. who suffered a leg irijurv last week, will return to the saddle next week. J. O. Keene arrived from Latonia early Saturday morning to view the performance Of Haste, which his brother saddled for J. K. Widener. Mr. Keene reports that Chump De Mars has been temporarily taken out of training owing to sickness, and that Forest yueen also is in the retired list for a while. F. R Bradley, accompanied by Jockeys B. Blind and G. Johnson, arrived early this morning from Cincinnati.- He was greatly impressed with the magnitude of Kail-mount Bark and praised Messrs Winn and Head for their sound construction theories Mr. Mradley stated that Bubbling Over was ■agin in prime fettle and that he had benefited by the rest he had secured. "He is going just as sound as ever." said Mr. Brad-Icy, "and an trace of the swelling on the leg that caused a temporary suspension in his training remains." Mr. Bradley was sanguiae that his Bagsav-baggage and Hoot to Boot would render a good account of themselves in the Derby running. A delegation of over 3M racing enthusiasts came over from Loufanrule and in rinded .lames T. Clark, director of the Kentucky .Jockey Club. Most of the visitors returned to Louisville tonight. Many members of the Illinois Jockey Club, headed by Thomas Bourke and Thomas Kern, were among the Chicago representation that came this morning -to witness the Derby running. John W. Schorr, who is desirous of returning to the ranks of owners, had a party of relatives as guests in his clubhouse boxes. Mrs. Margaret Kmerson Baker and her party of guests wen- early arrivals at h*. clubhouse They occupied boxes adjoining that of K. ft Mradley. Polk I.affoon. v ice-chairman of the Kentucky State Racing Commission, vvas a visitor and incidentally had the pleasure of witnessing the success of his Bulletin in the third race. Col. Matt J. Winn returns to Chicago Sunday and will remain there for- some time. President I yams T.
