RACE MEETING AT AURORA First in State to Be Conducted Under Rules of New Illinois Turf Association. CHARLES W. BIDWILL. The Aurora meeting, now in progress at Exposition Park, is the first to be conducted under the rules and regulations of the newly established Illinois Turf Association. The officers of this organization are : S. Peabody, president ; B_ M. Sweitzer. vice-president, and C. W. Bidwill, secretary and treasurer. The executive committee includes besides the three above mentioned. C. Bruce Head and C. R. Trimble. On the board of directors are: S. Feabody, M. J. Winn. D. T. Hay. C. B. Head. J. Schank. C. W. Bidwill. B. M. Sweitzer, G. B. Pilkington, C. R. Trimble and E. E. Lyon. The tracks represented are Lincoln Fields. Washington Park. Hawthorne, Aurora, Fairmount Park and Peoria. The rules and regulations adopted by the Illinois Turf Association are similar, with a few exceptions, to those that govern racing in New York, under jurisdiction of The Jockey Club, also in Kentucky and Maryland, where state racing commissions control the sport. The same scale of weights now in force in New York, Maryland and Kentucky was likewise adopted by the Illinois Turf Association. There is every assurance that racing in Illinois conducted under these rules and regua-tions will be properly safeguarded and accordingly grow and prosper.
