MAIN RACE TO UNCERTAIN Campbell Representative Provides Surprise in New Southern Hotel Handicap. COLUMBUS, Ohio. April 23.— Uncertain, racing for C. R. Campbell, provided a surprise when he scored an easy victory in the New Southern Hotel Handicap, feature attraction of the half holiday card at Beulah Park this afternoon. Jockey F. Kiniry saved ground with his mount all the way, slipped, through on the inside of the leaders, after going three-quarters and drew away decisively in the stretch drive. Begonia and Optimist also avoided the early pace and both made up considerable ground in the-last quarter, but Begonia proved best in the final drive for second place honors. Turn-berry and Brownie Smile raced one another into exhaustion in contesting for the early leadership and both quit to a walk in the final drive. The race was staged over a fast track. Despite the chill in the air and a cloudy sky, a large crowd witnessed the sport. Many of the races were productive of close finishes and form followers succeeded in selecting a majority of the winners.
