Winner — B. h, by Whisk Broom II. — Sfamina, by Nasturtium trained by M. Brady; bred by Mr. Harrv Payne Whitney. WENT TO POST— 2:29. AT POST— 1 minute. Start good and slow. Won easily: second and third driving. HUSKY was close up for the first mile and, racing into an easy lead when TOP NOTCH fell, drew away and won in a canter. DUETTISTE, taken under stout n straint for the first turn of the field, was never able to make up any ground when put to a drive. DRAGON DE VERfT, badly outrun early, gained rapidly in the last mile and finished gamely. MAIREEN HAWX raced wide for the entire way, but jumped well. CASETTE showed speed for the first mile and retired. ARARAT II. was racing well when he struck the thirteenth jump and fell. Start good and slow. Won driving: second and third the same. FAIR ANITA moved into the lead with a rush and, withstanding a challenge from FIRE FAIRY, managed to last long enough to win. FIRE FAIRY began well from her outer position, but came over and caused a jam on the turn out of the back stretch, then came wide into the stretch and finished fast and gamely. WIND FLOWER ran a good race while racing wide most of the way. TRUE PA I. finished resolutely. SHORTY met with severe interference and could never reach the others. RIVANNA showed early speed. The latter came fast after entering the home stretch and drew tip on almost equal terms, but was tiring in the last eighth. ROSE ETERNAL set a fast pace while hard ridden from the start, withstood a challenge from POLISH in the early running, saved much ground on the stretch turn and. holding a small lead tenaciously through the final drive in the stretch, withstood the belated rush of TIFFIN. The latter was forced to race on the outside and was forced extremely wide when coming into the stretch, but finished fast and probably would have won in a few more strides. POLISH was close up throughout, but ran out on the stretch turn, then came again and finished gamely. ROONEY raced forwardly and ran a good race. SlCKY was close up for the entire way. BOGAN was forced very wide when coming into the stretch. HARRY CARROLL was outpared for the first three quarters, but coming through fast on the inside of the leaders n the stretch turn and taking the lead, won going away. TEN SIXTY set a good pace, under slight restraint, but ran out badly, after rounding the far turn, and forced APPLECROSS and FORKHKAI very wide, then raced gamely to the end. FOREHEAD moved up menacingly, after rounding the far turn, hut was forced very wide and was bumped several times in the stretch. MIKAIMi, taken up going to the first turn, improved his position rapidly by s-.tiring a clear passage along the inner rail on the back stretch, saved ground at the stretch turn and, finishing stoutly, gained 1 ateadilj and got up in the concluding strides. SOlTH BREEZK. forwardly placed in the early running, swung wide into the main stretch and continued to bear out, but tired after disposing of DONGES. The latter raced CI.YKELI.A into defeat, gained command, but quit in the last furlong. Scratched 11442 Byway. 122: 12767 Rulien. 112.
