The Sanola Stock Farm sold the plater Gas Welch to Freeman and Bernstein for a consideration of 00. O. L. Foster purchased Lady ONeil from J. F. ONeil at private sale. The filly is a recent winner at the Aurora course. See and Fnizier claimed the filly Income Monday out of the last race for ,000. Two claims were in for the filly and they secured her in the shake. James Swinehart, who is racing a stable at Aurora, was a visitor today. It was his first trip out to the course during the meeting. He was badly injured about a month ago. when four of his horses were knocked out of the car in which they arrived. One of the thoroughbreds fell on Mr. Swinehart and the injuries suffered in the accident put him on the shelf for a month. Jockey L. Austin is another who is on the ailing list. He recently underwent a slight operation. Jack May, who was injured last week when his automobile was hit by a traction car. remains the same. Physicians attending him hold hopes for his recovery. J. J. Russell took out a license Monday to train horses which run in his name. T. Carter was training his stable while Russell was on a vacation. Pompous gave an improved showing in the fifth nice this afternoon under jockey J. Majestic, and jockey V. Crowell, who rode the gelding on his last out on April 28. is suspended pending further investigation of his rid-- of Pompous in that race.
