BIG TURN-OUT AT OMAHA Warmest Day of Year Fails to Affect Ladies Day Attendance at Ak-Sar-Ben Field. OMAHA, Neb., June 24. The warmest day of the year failed to keep down the attendance at Ak-Sar-Ben Field today and the usual large Ladles Day crowd was out. The program was made up of claiming races, with an army officers race of five-eighths over the hurdles as an added attraction. T. N. T., the favorite, won this event easily. He proved an excellent jumper and was splendidly ridden by Lieutenant Weinaug. Fabric finished second and Ginger was third. The best field of the afternoon went to the post in the fifth race and Lillian L. was the winner. She was always close up and finished courageously, but barely lasted to hold Time and Tide safe, the latter finishing fast. Down Town was third. Black Prince, the favorite, won the opener. He was much the best and, taking command soon after the start, held sway to the end. Heather Honey, the choice in the second race, went down to defeat, finishing third to Elm, a field horse, and Glenantrim Maid. Heather Honey set the pace to the stretch but tired and could not stave off the above pair. Mally S. which has been running far back in all her races, came to life in the third race. She took a four-lengths lead in the early stages of the contest and managed to outstay the fast finishing, Doc K. Martin Thorpe, the medium of a heavy play, took the fourth race. He led all the way. Collie Tokalon and Sheffield were second and third.
