DARK RONALD DESTROYED SPECIAL CABLEGRAM. BERLIN, Germany, April 10. — Word was received here today that Dark Ronald had been destroyed at Harzburg Stud. Dark Ronald was the leading sire of this country and a dominant factor in others. He was twenty-three years old, the son of Bay Ronald — Darkie, by Thurio. In England he won the Royal Hunt Club and the Prince of Wales stakes. He was the sire of many outstanding thoroughbreds, including Son-in-Law in England. Magpie in Australia, Brown Ronald in South Africa, Dark Legend in France and Ambassador IV. in the United States. In 192G three colts by Dark Ronald, consigned by the Harzburg Stud, brought 3,200 at auction at Saratoga.
