Forsythe for Secretary i in i LEXINGTON, Ky., May 3.— The directors of the Thoroughbred Horse Association will J meet some time during the next two weeks in at Louisville to elect officers. The expec- t tation is that "William E. Caskey, Jr., owner of Bramble Farm, where he keeps a band of mares for breeding purposes and who also is owner and trainer of a band of j about a dozen horses, will be chosen president. Fred A. Forsythe, who formerly was a breeder and raced a considerable string of horses some twenty years ago but who for more than a decade has devoted his time largely to commercial pursuits, will be the secretary, to succeed Thomas B. Cromwell, who after twelve years in the office, asked at the annual meeting, when Col. E. R. Bradley retired as president, that a succes- sor be chosen. Mr. Cromwell will publish the Thoroughbred Horse, of which he has been editor since its establishment twelve years ago, and it will carry the bulletins of the Thoroughbred Horse Association, as formerly. Mr. Cromwell will keep his office in the Phoenix Hotel and the office of the Thoroughbred Horse Association will be moved to rooms in the Hernando Building. The eastern office of the Thoroughbred 1 Horse Association at Queens Village was discontinued as of April M and J. P. Brady, Jr., who was in charge, has entered the employ of the Louisiana Jockey Club. Col. E. R. Bradley yesterday completed the contract with Lawrence D. Jones, field I secretary and organizer of the Thoroughbred Horse Association, by paying him for the remainder of the year, according to the termination clause in the agreement. The horse shoeing department was discontinued as of Apiil 30. The men who were in the employ of the organization purchased the equipment and will continue the shop at the various tracks, shoeing for their own account and at the old scale of prices. Many horsemen have indicated to them their intention of continuing patronage.
