t LEXINGTON TURF NOTES | * — ■ — ; 4 LEXINGTON, Ky., May 3. Jockey Harry Gray came over from Louisville to accept the mount on Starry Heavens in the Hinata Stakes. Edwin YWidekamp reports that the special he is handling for the Louisville and Xashville railroad and which will run from here to Louisville Saturday evening, probably will be heavily patronized. The special will leave at 8 oclock. , The Idle Hour Farm Stable horses, in charge of H. J. Thompson, got away this morning for Belmont Park and K. R. Bradley, owner of the stable, has arranged to leave for the East tomorrow morning. C Irby, who is shipping his stable to Fair-mount Pari? next Monday, has granted jockey L. McClair permission to absent himself from the stable to ride at Churchill Downs. McClair has given first call on his services to the George Collins Stable for the Downs meeting. J. C. Ellis, prominent sportsman and owner of Dade Park, is a visitor. His stable will be shipped to Aurora from here and Jockey Byron Bay, who joined the establishment today, will go along. Bay was with the stable of 11. L. Baker for the past month. Three horses were sent from here yesterday to Stuart Folk at Aurora. They are the property of P. T. Chin. The horses Flattery, Princeton and Warbler, members of the division of the J. N. Camden Stable, handled by Boscoe Goose, will be shipped to Goose at Churchill Downs tomorrow. They were campaigned here by Danny Stewart. T. D. Taggart of French Lick, Ind.. accompanied by his wife, was a visitor at Churchill Downs to inspect his horses that are being trained by Bryant Ott. Doctor Fred and George Groom, belonging to J. B. Partridge, returned today from Lexington. Doctor Fred finished second in a claiming race Wednesday. Owner Partridge stated today that he had no idea of starting the colt in the Derby. Dr. B. N. Woodard of this city reported that Western Dream had foaled a filly by Peter Pan at his Lyncliff Farm, near this city. The youngster is said to be one of the biggest fillies foaled in this section in recent years. Western Dream will be bred to Whisk Broom II.
