NEW YORK TURF NOTES — __ __ and NEW YORK. X. Y.. May 3. Jockey R. Workman was suspended for five days by the starter for disobedience at the post Wednesday. R. A. Smith was a visitor Wednesday, but returned to Pimlico following the running of the last race. Surrogate Foley was a visitor Wednesday. Shasta Grafton was claimed out of the second race today by W. J. Weyh for .,000. V. D. "Hindley claimed Singlestick from the Rosedale Stable out of the first race for ,500. Jockey Kelsay recovered from his recent illness and resumed riding today. J. Simon Healy left for Baltimore and during his absence Joseph Healy saddled Reputation in the fourth race. Nelson Strong resumed his official duties in the secretarys office following a brief illness.
